Results Distribution

When the match is complete, summary reports are prepared for the Match Review Committee prior to general distribution.

The results of the match will be disseminated as follows:

E-mail results and statistics to medical schools.
E-mail results with link to match reports to programs.
E-mail results to applicants.
All results will be available by 9:00 A.M. EST, Monday, January 25, 2010.

To view any unfilled urology vacancies, select Program vacancies and then select click here under the applicants. Unmatched applicants can contact these programs directly to negotiate with the program.

I had heard that it may be even sooner than the published 9am time. I'm just gonna check it when I get up in the morning. I'm not planning on staying up all night and checking it at midnight or anything.

What do you mean "check it"? Is there somewhere to 'check' on the AUA website? Or do you just mean you'll be checking your email pre-9am?

Can anyone weigh in on this? When have people gotten results in years past?

Do they notify you on sunday or friday if you didnt match? Then actual results on monday?

No way, there is an eary early match? I wanna get in on that

Does it matter? I'm going to check mine when I wake up in the morning. If it's at 4 am, I'll probably start spastically checking then. If it's at 10am, I'll probably look at it on my phone before I get out of bed then try to remember who all I promised to call with the news.

How to get to sleep the night before is another story entirely.

So, I am on call in gen surg on sunday to monday morning. Its a prog in my top 5. I wonder if I should look at it when I am at work or wait till I get out?!!>?!?!?

I just asked my team for the day off. They're awesome. They told me I better be hung over on Tuesday also.
You should probably not wait till you get home though. You'll be totally useless on any service knowing that there's a letter in your inbox telling you where you'll live for the next half-decade.

last year they aimed to have it to applicants by 9am est, but i think i got mine at around 7:15 (i was in the central time zone) so a bit early

"The results should be sent on January 25, 2010 at 9:00am. It is possible that they will be a little earlier than that; however, they will definitely be sent by 9:00am."

I meant 9:00 EST. I'll get them @ 6:00 PST

So, I went through this match thing twice and got emails at 2 different times.

the first time (07) i got an email at 12 or 1 am. (central time)

The second time (09) i got an email at 730 or so am (central time)

I obviously didn't match the first time ,but that email came at the same time as everyone elses

stop worrying, go have a beer (or seven)

It would be nice to know if I didn't match now so I can put a good face on it when other people find out where they will be and to get ready to start calling programs. Let's face it, you can't just find out that your career ambitions just hit a one year delay or career reroute and give too much of a damn about some whiney opiate-addicted fibromyalgia patient's constipation... Or even enough to fake it. It would be nice to have the weekend to take a breather, convince yourself that there are much worse things in the world. Then, Monday (when ThatGuy-you know who I mean-is gloating about his matching to so and so), be able to shrug and lie convincingly that doing a year of research before starting residency was your idea!

Anyway, margarita time...

My understanding is that the results are released at midnight and that they generally cross by 12:30am. Anybody else have that understanding?

I think that three or four years ago the had the ole' midnight release for the emails but I think in the last couple of years they email have been in the morning around 7-9am. So you may want to try and get some sleep instead of trying to stay up waiting for an email that won't likely come until 7am.

what are people doing about contacting prgrams if there are spots open? do u send them your app or do you just sell yourself over the phone?
