Here is the link for the Urology Match Statistics:

http://www.auanet.org/content/residency/residency-match.cfm#statistics

I found a few interesting trends, maybe some people have explanations

1.  Registrations have dropped by almost 30-40 applicants for the past 2 years!!

2.  Applicants ranked by program have also dropped 30-40 last 2 years

3. Positions left open are 8 vs 5 last year and 1 in the year before

Huh...

Seems like a combination of the expanding number of residency positions but also a clear down turn in interest of medical students in applying. Of course there may be a lot of self selection and or stories from the past few years that scared off some students.

An interesting quote and not sure of how true it may be but today I was at lunch with alot of the Ortho guys and they said that there was a 30% jump this year in applications to Ortho programs nationally! Considering it is a bigger field than Urology for sure it would be a pretty big jump. Even if its not actually that high I bet more than a few of the highly competitive students chose that path instead of Uro. Plus applying for Ortho allows to concurrently apply for back position with much less hassle than with Urology which for less competitive applicants may be a draw.

Average step scores?

Is there anywhere to find the average step scores for this years matchers?

Nope

Nope. You would have to ask each program which I highly doubt would tell.
