Requiring Step 2 scores before matching?
Which programs require you to have passing Step 2 CK/CS scores on file with them before being able to rank you? Is UCSF the ONLY one, or are there others? If anyone is aware of others, please post!!
this is actually pretty crucial to know, because Step 2 CS sites are practically full already, so some of us may be locked out of certain programs if we don't register in time (either that, or fly someplace pretty far to take CS).
There are several places that will as for your Step 2 scores or want to know when you will take it. I interviewed this past season. CS doesn't matter. I took mine in January. You just have to be able to speak English to pass it.
UCSF actually modified their rules since last year so that early match students like Urology and Ophtho can get waivers for this rule.
I got a 230 on Step 1, and a pretty weak application as far research or other earth shattering things, but my question is
The NBME is holding all scores for those taking step 2 after Aug 12 until October 6th. I have the option of taking Step 2 earlier than Aug 12, but risk getting my score back prior to Sept 1 and if I don't get a 230+, risk unnessarily shooting myself in the foot since it will be reported on ERAS. What should I do?

I've HEARD that Kaiser in LA wants a score but not positive.
