Unwanted Resident
What if you matched to a program that was your #1, and you heard rumors that the program did not want you, or were "suprised that we matched you". I mean, I got what I wanted, but not so nice rumors floating around. None validated though. Any advice or feedback? I mean, in the end, unless they really got screwed over in the match and were like "oh no, we got our last choice". I guess when it comes donw to it, I probably dont ever want to see the match list.
No good can ever come from knowing your place on a match list. If you were the top choice, then the pressure to be the next Chairman at Hopkins would be intense. If you were the last choice, then the expectations would be equally low and you might get short-changed.
At this point, you have a relatively clean slate. Work your ass off and perform at a solid level and you will do fine. I have known several people low on match lists who graduated at the top of their residency classes and are very successful in academic urology.
I can help you if you give us your name and the name of your institution and where you think you were on their match list. :)

clean slate from here on.
work your ass off, get along with people, never lie -- no one will remember where you were on the rank list this time next year.
