Seeking motivated research fellow

1 year translational Research Fellowship position in Dr. Polascik’s lab at the Duke University Medical Center. Graduates of Medical school or Urology residency who are interested in expending their clinical research experience are encouraged to apply.  Research areas will include all facets of prostate and kidney imaging including mpMRI, advanced biopsy techniques (double fusion and Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse) and minimally invasive treatment options for prostate cancer including Focal Therapy as well as outcomes and disparity research of prostate and kidney cancer. The fellow will have multiple opportunities to participate in domestic and international multidisciplinary research groups and gain access to large prostate and kidney databases. The research group is actively developing cross-disciplinary programs in particular, with the Radiology department and Biomedical Engineering. The research environment is collaborative, collegial and leads to high productivity.  The fellow’s responsibilities will include management of multiple simultaneous research projects, manuscript, IRB protocols and grant writing. The fellow should be able to work independently, be highly motivated and possess excellent communication skills.  Proficiency in statistics is strongly encouraged.
