Good afternoon: Thank you for your application to our urology trainingprogram here at Boston Medical Center. We received over 250 applications forour two positions to start July, 2013. At this time we are not able to offeryou an interview. We appreciate your time and efforts in the applicationprocess however we must limit our interviews to only a small number ofapplicants. great way to start the weekend
What's with all of these rejections well before they send out the interview invites? Without knowing the interview acceptance rate, it seems ballsy of the programs.

It could suggest that the programs already have a couple of gauranteed, trusted home-grown candidates and have decided to save everyone else the inconvenience of transportation, accomodation and time...in which case I wouldn't hold it against them.
Shall we compare rejections? Most polite - Loma Linda. Most dry - OSU. Most bizarrely worded - Lahey. Most comical?
Very polite rejection
one of my classmates got rejected from northwestern. anyone else heard from them? good or bad?
