wow they are only taking one this year, if I may ask how did you find that out? Anyways good to know because I don't think there is really ever a good reason by a program would only take one resident instead of their normal amount.
SO SAD. Maybe its weird of me to post here, but I have to vent somewhere.
My husband didn't get an interview... which means we won't be living in Portland for a loooong time. I can't apply to Lewis and Clark law school, and our son won't live near his grandparents for the first 5-6 years of his life. Plus, I will have to take the bar in another state and then retake it when we move back to that area someday...
This process is incredibly hard on families, not just applicants! I'm ready for January 25th already. Not that it matters much anymore.
Just go to Univ. of Washington, it's only three hours away and close enough for any drive for the relatives. Plus you can drive down after law school and take the bar.
great idea, except that unfortunately earlier in the process his app was rejected from uw. northern california is as close as we can possibly get at this point.
I am also the spouse of a urology hopeful, and I know what you are going through. I am a lawyer, facing yet another bar exam, and I had to move 900 miles away from home, so I really can relate. If you need to talk to someone, please let me know, and I will give you my email address. This is his second time trying to match, so I am an old pro at it by now :)
Does anyone know why they're only matching one spot this year?

it was included in their interview offer email.
The program is in the process of moving from 6 to 5 years and from 2 to 3 residents. They're taking 1 resident this year so the numbers will work out.
Hope all of you that are planning to interview at OHSU know how to tie sutures...
I think that was a Barry thing, not sure if they are still that way.
