Quick Question

I have a quick question about applying to multiple rotations for the same time frame. Is it better to have backups and then go back and decline ones you were accepted to but can't attend? Or, should you limit your applications and kind of put all your eggs in one basket? Thanks for the help.

I've got a question about LSU Shreveport.  Do you really have to have a complete physical exam done and signed off on before your app is complete?

I'm not an expert...in the same boat (3rd year), but I would imagine that Urology is a very small field, and just the potential of pissing off the wrong person would say to take what you got. Unless you are just absolutely stellar, I think face time at a mid-teir program is what you need. Everyone always talks about "big name" letters, but come on, these PDs aren't stupid--they would much rather trust a month sub-I experience with someone than a "big name" that they see once a year at a conference. Again, I'm not an expert, just my opinion.

I am applying to multiple positions at one time.  Apparently almost all schools are used to dealing with this, and don't think much of it if you decline in a timely manner due to being selected elsewhere.  At least, that's what my student affairs office told ME, as I had the same question :)I haven't even heard back from my OWN school about the rotation I want with them in July, and haven't heard back yet from my top 2 other places to which I've applied through VSAS.  This waiting to the last minute stuff is killing me.
