So I dont have a great step 1 213. Cant change that. Am scheduled to take Step 2 within the week...just in time to be released the first week in Sept. Ive had some personal crises arise that kept me in the hospital for 3 weeks and I have not been able to study as planned. What is more important if I have subpar step 1 scores: Taking the Step 2 in time to have it reported by first week applications are in ERAS.....or pushing it back and studying harder to get a hopefully higher score but not having the score reported until Oct 6th (Per the new USMLE score reporting guidelines....they are changing the format and say beginning Aug 12th examinees wont have reports out until Oct 6th). Desperately need honest helpful advice. Do I suck it up and take it...possibly only getting in the 220s-230s -best bet.....Or pushing it back to cover the material and wont have a score available for a program to see until Oct 6th...which may be past their deadline for interview offers anyway if I even make the "cut" -as certain programs have a step 1 cut-off....Would really appreciate advice.
push it back.with your step 1 scores, a poor step 2 score is damning.
