Ya I hope I didn't miss it, it looks like they sent it out 4:15 central, 5:15 eastern. Replied at 6:45, was in OR so couldnt get to it earlier.. would be really bummed if that was the case. Has anyone missed out on any interviews by replying "late" (a day or two)? How about within a few hours?
Sounds like this is a popular interview. A lot of people got it.
from what i've heard the residents are having some serious low volume issues and hardly any cases...doesn't seem like the best way to train.
That is interesting to hear. I haven't had a chance to check out the program, but maybe you could assist with more on exactly what you're talking about and perhaps where the information comes from. I've heard this about a number of different programs all over the map, but it helps to know the context. I was excited to get the interview in Chicago, though I didn't do a sub-i nor am I from the school. I've only heard really positive things so far...mostly about happy residents and a congenial department.

i heard it directly from the mouth of one of the UIC residents when i was rotating at the VA hospital, where they spend some time. however, if you're interested in chicago you should definitely check the program out and decide for yourself, of course. the resident told me that she's up front with all the applicants about their issues with volume in order to make sure everyone has received "fair warning", so i'm sure they'll give you a straight answer if you ask about it when you're there. they did seem happy though and were very nice people.
Step 1 -241 AOA Not my home school, no Sub-I
