The delay betwen rank list submission and today has nothing to do with the actual match generation. Instead, after January 5th, as part of a back up protocol, the AUA manually checks the ID numbers of the lists and runs through a "sample" of a few applicants by hand to make sure that people matched in the right places. The choice of Monday versus Friday is about giving the extra days and also to allow people to know their results at the start of the work-week, so you can then contact your programs and visa versa.
Hello sir/ Madam,You seem very well informed about this process. Is there any way I would find out if I matched. I do not really care to know about the place.
I don't feel nervous about the match at all. I am on a rotation, but it's pretty laid back, so it's not that I'm distracted from thinking about the match. And, I'm NOt that cocky person that is convinced they will definitely match somewhere either - there are definitely no guarantees. Is there something wrong with me? I handle stress differently now than I did in my high school or college years, but an email I receive on January 24th will basically have my future written in it. I guess I just have come to accept that everything happens for a reason.....
So, IF we match, what is the proper etiquette for contacting the program? Do they contact you? Do we email them? Call them? Just curious.
Based on my experience (and the shared experience of the other people I know and matched with) the programs will contact you shortly after the match. I received calls from about half the staff and all of the residents within about 4 hours of the match results being emailed out. Get excited - and have some brew on hand to celebrate at 9am (EST).- BTW look forward to calling a couple of you on Monday.

Has anyone called the AUA to plead the case? Maybe they just aren't aware of how nice that would be for everyone ;).

96 hours and counting!!!
About 43 hours to go. Eerily quiet here. Could cut the tension with a baseball bat.
Who is this "self-reliance" guy/gal? Really? Really???
less than 12 hours people!!!!
