Cancelled Nov 2nd

urored -- I (sadly) had to cancel my Nov 2nd interview (conflict + impossible travel logistics), so hopefully that frees up a spot for you.  I would contact the program coordinator to inquire if a spot is now available.

Car Share 11/14

Hey all,I'm going to rent a car from Cedar rapids to Iowa City the morning of 11/14, if anyone is interested in splitting it with me.  I get in at 9 am, and will head straight to the interview, and I'll then return to the airport around 9 am again on 11/15.  Let me know if you're interested.

Iowa

Iowa Listeni/ˈaɪ.əwə/ is a state located in the Midwestern United States, an area often referred to as the "American Heartland". It derives its name from the Ioway people, one of the many American Indian tribes that occupied the state at the time of European exploration.[5] Iowa was a part of the French colony of New France. After the Louisiana Purchase, settlers laid the foundation for an agriculture-based economy in the heart of the Corn Belt.[6] Iowa is often known as the "Food Capital of the World".[7] However, Iowa's economy, culture, and landscape are diverse. In the latter half of the 20th century, Iowa's agricultural economy transitioned to a diversified economy of advanced manufacturing, processing, financial services, biotechnology, and green energy production. The state has a population of just over 3 million (2010) and its capital and largest city is Des Moines. Iowa has been listed as one of the safest states in which to live.
