Rejection/what might be a waitlist

Duped

Anyone else feel duped? I thought for sure I was a good candidate, but all the places I realistically expected are rejecting me. WTF? I just feel this year has a difference about it vs. other years.

I have the same feeling.  The problem is that the AUA doesn't publish any stats such as avg Step 1 scores, number of pubs, avg number of interviews/applicant, chance of matching based on number of interviews, etc.  So it is kinda tough to know what a "good candidate" really is.  Also, I think we unfortunately got stuck applying in the year that all the smart people want to do Uro.

I definitely think that uro isn't as hard n fast on numbers as it is the entire application. I for one am at the average for step1 but have been very fortunate both in and outside of my region. I chock it up to great letters and research. Keep up the faith and things should turn around. Finally, remember that the number of interviews is not the end all be all as we have all met those that had every interview but didn't match.

Why is that the majority of

Why is that the majority of the programs don't bother telling you that you're rejected? I get that they want backups in case people cancel but cmon...they get like over 150 apps and they interview anywhere from 20-50 applicants which leaves over 100 people not getting an interview. Why not do what some schools do and have a waitlist of the next 20 down and reject the rest so that people know where they stand with the program.

Anyone have an idea of how many were NOT rejected from UCLA and are waiting to hear?

Nothing but crickets here.  No rejection, no offer.

What can we reasonable expect

What can we reasonable expect about more waves of interviews going out, cancellations etc?
