Description:
This application is similar to the iURO kidney app and includes short and absolutely beautiful animations to describe several different diseases and procedures for urologic cancers. Diseases covered include prostate, renal, bladder, and testis cancer. Procedures covered include lap radical/partial nephrectomy, radical orchiectomy, radical prostatectomy, TURBT, RPLND, external beam radiation, and open cystectomy. Additionally, the app includes a general video on the epidemiology of the most common urologic cancers. Finally, there is a section where the user can draw directly on animated images of the urinary and reproductive tracts, with the option of emailing the drawing to others.
Sexiness of Interface/Ease of Use:
This app has probably the best user interface I’ve worked with on the iPhone in terms of sexiness and style. The iPad app is also beautiful. The transitions are seamless between the main menu and video animations and moving between menus/animations was smooth. The application was easy to use and fairly intuitive.

Audience:
This app is most useful for urologists and residents in conjunction with their patients. I do not think the $5.99 is worth it for patients on their own to download this app, there just isn’t enough information or videos for it to be worthwhile and patients could simply go on youtube to find similar types of videos.
The Skinny:
A solid app that should be used primarily by urologists or urology residents to help patients understand the basics of urologic cancers as well as the procedures involved in treating them through stunning video animations. I can see a urologist using this app in their office to teach their patients about a procedure prior to going to the operating room. The ability to draw on and email pictures of the urinary system is a plus.
