Please be considerate when

Please be considerate when making major changes to the doc - especially, please don't sort the data on this original doc. If you want to do so, or play with the data or formulas in any other way, just copy it onto a new sheet or save it as an excel to your computer.Right now I can't even access the doc because of high volume, but I'll just revert it to the last known good version. Sorry for the data loss - I'll try to preserve as much as I can.Do the raw data fields still correspond across, or are they all unrelated now?

Format problems

It looks like all of the summary statistic data is totally sorted incorrectly. Will the creator fix it and then maybe upload a download link to an Excel file that's pretty?

Google doc fixed again, moved

Google doc fixed again, moved the formulas to a new sheet. Update or add info on the links above.Latest good version (not publicly editable, data probably won't change much now anyway): https://skydrive.live.com/redir?page=view&resid=DF8A77E20D97622!262&authkey=!AHX_4avaRQr5MZM

List

Come on guys let's get the list filled in some more. I'm curious who the third person at Loyola and Henry Ford are. Only one person filled in for UTSA?Also question about matching below away is a bit confusing. I personally ranked one away 1 and another 6 and matched between the two.

Who is Urojets?

Was this ever figured out?

Independent applicant column

I added a column to choose US Senior, US grad, or FMG as categorical variables for next year. You could also make it binary with independent applicant vs us senior y/n.

it was figured out (or at least admitted to me).  The person didn't match so I won't put their name out there.

Gender

I'm curious, but does anyone else think there are a lot of men on this match list? I mean with the excpetion of top notch programs, there are a lot of programs with three residents a year that only match men. Not saying they are not qualifed or that women "deserve" a spot but I just found it interesting, and slightly concerning, while reviewing the list.

I don't know

I don't think there is any discrimination going on, if that is what you are wondering.  Less women, by far , apply into urology.  I went on nearly 20 interviews this season.  Women were always in the minority by about 4 to 1. It seems that less women apply. Is that a bad thing? I don't know.  Should there be more men in Ob/gyn?? I don't know.  But I do know that the rate of women applicants that matched was roughly similar ( although slighty less) to the match date for men.  It might be worth looking into where similar applicants of varying genders match.
