Even if you bulk up your application, it would be difficult to get many interviews with a 237. you would be filtered out even before people read your application. trust me its not worth the risk unless you can effectively parallel plan for another specialty and apply to both.
4th year applicant here. Applied to 50 programs recieved 26 offers and going on 18 interviews all with a 236... Hopefully the match process works out, but just wanted to say the screening process isn't all on numbers. Of note recieved programs such as Southwestern, GW, Georgetown, Emory, Ohio State, Kansas. Study hard for step 2 not very hard to go up 15-20 points.
Do you attend a top-10 school or have awesome publications or something extra?
I attend low tier medical school, zero publications, several clinical studies without publications, AOA, very strong work ethic and think I am easy to be around which was reflected in my letters of rec per interviewers.
