UCSD/Kaiser Endourology/Laparoscopic Fellowship

UC San Diego-Kaiser Endourology/Laparoscopic Fellowship
The UC San Diego Department of Urology and Kaiser Permanente Endourology/Laparoscopic Fellowship is now accepting applications for a fellow to begin July 2016. This is a one-year, funded clinical research program designed for trainees post-residency interested in pursuing a career in Urology. The fellowship is under the direction of Dr. Roger L. Sur of UC San Diego and Dr. Marc Chuang of Kaiser Permanente. This fellowship offers the opportunity to complete four major goals:
1) Mastery of routine and complex kidney stone procedures
2) Robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgery techniques at Kaiser
3) Clinical training at UCSD Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center
4) Clinical and basic science research.
The Fellow’s responsibilities include clinical rotation, surgery and the opportunity to participate in numerous clinical studies evaluating kidney stone disease from all different facets, as well as basic research. Fellows have the opportunity to present at the UCSD Urology annual postgraduate course and annual Hands-on Endourology Surgery for Residents course, in addition to the opportunity to attend the Western Section of the AUA (WSAUA) conference, World Congress of Endourology, and annual AUA meeting. Fellows are also encouraged to participate in the Department of Urology’s weekly educational activities and conferences. There are many opportunities to interact with faculty and master leading-edge surgical techniques.
