At University of Utah we are starting a fellowship entitled "Genitourinary Injury and Reconstructive Urology". Although maybe semantics the title is meant to capture what reconstructive urologists do on a day to day basis - treat injury. Radiation injury, acute trauma, sequelae of trauma, surgical injury, and injury from other disease states like spinal cord injury. Unique in the fellowship, is different training tracks depending upon the fellows ultimate interests. A core of urethroplasty is essential to be GURS verified, but additional tracks can involve female, abdominal reconstruction, prosthetics, male sexual medicine, and infertility. We appreciate this is a new fellowship in a field that has exploded with different fellowships, but we decided to offer the fellowship because we felt we had an ability to offer one of the best educational experiences in the country. http://medicine.utah.edu/surgery/urology/fellowship-reconstructive.php
